A professional engineer has been fined $12,000 after being convicted of lying to the Ministry of Environment about forged documents connected to illegal dumping at a Stirling-Rawdon property four years ago.
The Ministry ordered the property owner to have the material removed by a licensed hauler and the owner gave the Ministry documents proving they were.
However, further investigation led the Ministry to believe the documents were forged.
The property owner identified the person who provided the documentation as engineer Christopher Follett.
The Ministry contacted Follett in 2021 who denied providing the documents.
Recently in a Belleville courtroom, Follett pleaded guilty to lying twice. He must also pay a victim surcharge of $3,000.
