Prince Edward County Committee of the Whole has approved a request by the Lions Club to hold voluntary road tolls as a fundraiser.
The road tolls will be held on Stanley Street, outside the Baxter building. Tolls are planned for long weekend Mondays in July, August, September, and October.
The voluntary road tolls will be collected by volunteers wearing safety vests. Volunteers will not walk into the street, and will instead use a butterfly net to reach the vehicles to collect donations.
After the motion was approved by the committee, it was sent to council for final approval.
