The group known as The Electors of Prince Edward County aren’t impressed with County Council’s refusal to immediately change the size and structure of council.
The Committee of the Whole voted last Thursday to ask municipal staff to come up with options for a referendum question on whether the number of councillors should be reduced from the current 15.
The question, if approved by council, would be put on the ballot in the 2010 election.
However, Electors co-chair Jim McPherson says the group will file an appeal with the Ontario Municipal board because it wants a solution now, not in 2014, when the first election with any council structural changes would be held.
