A French language high school, école secondaire publique Marc Garneau, tops the list of local secondary schools in the 2023 Fraser Institute Ontario Secondary School rankings.
The school, located at 8 Wing Trenton, scored a 7.8 out of 10 in 2022, and ranked 87 out of 689 schools.
The Fraser Institute uses test results from reading, writing, and math provided by the Education Quality and Accountability Office.
The average rating of all schools was a 6.
In second place locally was St. Paul Catholic with a 7.2 and another Catholic secondary school, Nicholson, finished third with a 6.7 score.
The lowest ranked local high school was Trenton with a 2.4 score. Second lowest was Eastside Secondary with a 3.4 and third last was Prince Edward Collegiate with a 3.5.
