The Canadian Armed Forces are preparing a small training exercise to take place on Bata Island in Quinte West.
During Wednesday’s meeting, council received a request from the military to allow them to use the island, and instructed staff to prepare a by-law to allow the military to use the island for the planned training, which will come before council at a future meeting.
The exercise is planned to take place June 21 and 22 and will involve between two and four military personnel.
The island will be closed to the public during the training.
