Break, Enter and Theft from Food Truck
Sometime overnight on May 6, 2024, unknown suspects broke into a chip truck on Cannifton Rd and stole a quantity of raw meat. The owner of the business reported the break, enter and theft to police upon arriving at work the following morning. Police are continuing the investigation. Fire quickly extinguished
On May 7, 2024 at 7:28 p.m., Belleville police, Belleville Fire and Hastings-Quinte Paramedics all responded to a residential address in the city’s west end regarding a report of a small fire. Upon arrival, emergency services personnel discovered that a 27-year-old Belleville man had been cutting the top off a propane tank to turn it into scrap metal when the tank exploded. The small fire was quickly extinguished. The male suffered minor burn injuries and was transported to the hospital by paramedics for treatment.
