Get your neon on this Friday in a fun, nostalgic fundraiser supporting Food for Learning.
Friday’s TGIF 80s Neon Party at the Grand will include a silent auction.
The event is raising money for Food for Learning’s local school breakfast, lunch and snack programs in Hastings and Prince Edward Counties.
Currently, 69 local schools/alternate learning spaces have Food for Learning programs feeding more than 7,000 students each day.
Approximately $20,000 is spent on food each week to ensure that students don’t go hungry.
“Every day, students in our community depend on Food for Learning’s programs to eat, learn and succeed,” says Kellie Brace, Executive Director of the Hastings and Prince Edward Learning Foundation.
Joanne Belanger, Food for Learning Chair, adds, “As more families are relying on Food for Learning programs to stretch their home grocery budgets, more students are participating in their school’s programs than ever before.”
