May is Museum Month.
The City of Belleville’s Glanmore National Historic Site is celebrating with an open house and free admission on International Museum Day May 18.
Glanmore is one of more than 37,000 museums worldwide recognizing the day.
Visitors will be able to explore the restored rooms and view the special exhibit Stitched Together, featuring 30 heritage quilts from Glanmore’s Regional Collection.
There will also be old-fashioned games to play, and opportunities to make a simple toy to take home or try your hand at quilting on a traditional quilt frame.
Coinciding with International Museum Day, the Friends of Glanmore are hosting a fundraising plant sale along with a silent auction from 8 a.m. to noon.
Funds raised from the silent auction and plant sale will go to the Friends of Glanmore National Historic Site in support of museum projects.
Admission to Glanmore National Historic Site, 257 Bridge Street East, Belleville, is FREE during International Museum Day on May 18.
