The annual Tim Hortons Smile Cookie Campaign gets underway this Monday (April 29)
Two of this year’s campaigns in the Quinte region will support the Food for Learning program and the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation.
Thirteen Tim Hortons outlets in Belleville, Madoc, Marmora, and Stirling will donate proceeds from the sale of the cookies to Food for Learning.
Jenn Barrett of the Learning Foundation explains how the funding will be used.
“We use the money to buy groceries and run our Food for Learning program at each of our local schools so it provides breakfast, lunch, or snacks to students and it’s very nutritious healthy meals so that kids aren’t hungry in school because when they eat better they learn better.”
More information about the campaign as well as a link to pre-order cookies and volunteer to decorate the cookies can be found at The Learning Foundation’s website.
Meanwhile in Trenton, six Tim Hortons stores will raise money for the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation toward the purchase of a new portable ultrasound machine.
The Foundation reports that such a machine will provide faster and more efficient diagnoses, directly improving patient care at Trenton Memorial Hospital.
In Brighton proceeds from smile cookies will go toward new playground equipment for Smithfield Public School.
