Quinte West Fire Chief John Whelan says a fire that destroyed a garage in Quinte West Thursday afternoon started in a riding lawnmower.
Crews were called to 803 Hamilton Road near Aikins Road around 2:20 p.m.
Smoke and flames were reportedly seen coming from the steel structure.
Two ATVs and lawnmowers were inside.
The fire was knocked down as of 3:20 p.m. but crews were still on scene as of 4:15 p.m. dousing hot spots.
No one was injured.
Damage is estimated at $100,000.
OPP were called to the scene for traffic control and closed Hamilton Road in the area of the fire for about an hour.
