Belleville police responded to 85 calls for service over a 24-hour period from 5 a.m. on April 16, 2024 to 5 a.m. on April 17, 2024.
RIDE Program
On April 16, 2024 between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m., Belleville police officers conducted a RIDE program in Thurlow. Fifty vehicles were checked. There were no charges or reportable incidents.
Speeding vehicle leads to Impaired Driving charges
On April 17, 2024 at 1:33 a.m., an officer observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Dundas St. The officer stopped the vehicle on Church St. near Bridge St. As a result of the roadside investigation, the officer arrested the driver for impaired driving. The male was transported to the Belleville Police Service for further investigation. As a result of the investigation, 27-year-old Juan Caicedo of Florida was charged with Impaired driving and over 80. He was released on an undertaking with a court date in May.
