The Belleville Senators bounced back from a 2-0 deficit to defeat the Toronto Marlies 3-2 in overtime and bounce back into an AHL playoff spot.
Wyatt Bongiovanni tied the game midway in the third and scored the winner at 1:56 of overtime to push Belleville into sole possession of fifth place in the North Division, two points ahead of Laval with a game in hand.
In fact, the B-Sens are now just two back of the fourth place Marlies with five games left.
Bongiovanni says the team stayed positive after falling behind.
Josh Currie also scored for the Senators and Leevi Merilainen stopped 25 shots.
The next stop for Belleville is Rochester where they play the Americans (Buffalo Sabres) Friday and Saturday night.
