The City of Belleville will be introducing signage marking the introduction of Automated Speed Enforcement starting April 15, 2024, in anticipation of the program’s official launch on July 15, 2024.
Signage will be placed in areas deemed high-risk zones for speeding or frequent traffic violations.
“Coming Soon” signs are being placed 90 days before the date the speed cameras will go live.
Automated Speed Enforcement implements cameras to detect vehicles travelling above the posted speed limits and issues tickets to those who drive above the posted speed limit.
The City of Belleville says the hope with implementing ASE is that it will create safer roadways, reduce accidents and promote responsible driving habits among motorists.
