New regulations regarding where new development, whether residential, commercial, or industrial, can be placed are now in effect in Belleville.
The city’s new zoning by-law will cover all lands in the city and has been arrived at through a public process that began in 2019.
The new zoning by-law consolidates three previous by-laws into one and creates more opportunities for housing and small business, more protections for the environment, and promotes active transportation.
