On March 27, 2024 at 11:43 a.m., Belleville police responded to a residential address in the city’s west end for a disturbance call. Initial information led officers to believe that the dispute may have been a landlord tenant issue.
When officers arrived, through an investigation, they learned that the disturbance was a domestic dispute and that the female caller had been physically assaulted by her male partner.
The male had left the residence prior to police arrival. Police searched the area and were able to locate and arrest the male without incident.
The 29-year-old male from Belleville was charged with assault and later released on an undertaking with a court date in May. The identity of the accused is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim.
