“Now more than ever, taking care of the environment is of utmost importance,” said City of Belleville Mayor Neil Ellis. “Quinte Trash Bash is an opportunity to help improve our community and keep our planet clean for a better tomorrow, one piece of litter at a time. This is an excellent family outing to teach our city’s children the importance of green efforts.”
“Every little bit of litter collected counts to ensure a greener and healthier community for all,” said City of Quinte West Mayor Jim Harrison. “Whether it’s a nearby trail, park, outside your workplace or along your neighbourhood roadside, Quinte Trash Bash is the perfect time to join together with friends, family, co-workers and community groups to make a difference for the environment and future generations.”
“We want to thank everyone for their commitment to keeping our community free from litter,” said Tyendinaga Township Mayor Claire Kennelly. “Quinte Trash Bash is a great opportunity to show we care.”
“Prince Edward County takes littering seriously because it has a detrimental effect on our environment and on our residents’ quality of life,” said Prince Edward County Mayor Steve Ferguson. “In the spirit of combatting littering, we are once again participating in the Owen Jones Community Clean-up, held in support of the Quinte Trash Bash. To further spread the word in our community, we are also proud to sponsor an anti-littering sign design contest for local students.”
During the 2023 Trash Bash 11.33 tonnes of trash were picked up in participating communities.
