The Trenton Golden Hawks have taken Game 1 in their playoff series with the Toronto Jr. Canadiens, defeating the visitors 4-3 at the Dunc on Friday Night.
Ryan Cutler, David Fournier, and Matthew Lee scored for the Golden Hawks.
The Jr. Canadiens started scoring with an unanswered first period goal after five minutes of play, but the Golden Hawks came back hard in the second scoring three back to back unanswered goals of their own, building a strong lead before the third period.
During the third, Toronto grabbed an early goal before another Trenton goal late in the period. And while Toronto slipped in the last goal of the night with less than a minute on the clock, they couldn’t catch up to the Golden Hawks, and were defeated.
The Golden Hawks are on the road for game two of their best-of-seven series, playing on Sunday at 7:30.
