The Criminal Investigations Division of the Belleville Police Service and the OPP’s Explosive Disposal Unit continue to investigate a suspicious package discovered on Keegan Parkway on the weekend.
Police believe this was an isolated incident and that there is no further threat to public safety.
Items have been sent for forensic testing which police say may assist in determining the package’s contents, authenticity and origins.
An area of Bayshore Trail along Keegan Parkway was closed for a period of time after the discovery of the package Saturday morning.
Police do not believe the package is linked to the bank robbery that also occurred on March 16.
