A large World War II bomber aircraft now being restored at the National Air Force Museum of Canada in Quinte West will have a new home for the next few years.
The Avro Lancaster KB 882 will be transported in sections to Base31 in Prince Edward County this week.
There, it will be reassembled and restored in Hangar 1 at Base31 and in June the aircraft will be open for public display as part of the the Royal Canadian Air Force’s Centennial celebrations.
The Lancaster bomber will be displayed at Base31 for four or five years to allow work to continue on an expansion of the National Air Force Museum of Canada.
