Through the program, residents and businesses register contact details so officers can reach out directly and request video footage if something happens in their neighbourhood.
There is no cost and registrants can delete their accounts at any time.
In addition to being rolled out by the Ontario Provincial Police across the province, CAMSafe has been expanded to more than a dozen municipal policing agencies, including the Belleville Police Service.
