The Rochester Americans beat the Belleville Senators 4-1 at CAA Arena on Friday night.
Angus Crookshank scored for the Senators.
The Americans opened up scoring with two first period unanswered goals, followed by two goals in the second before the Sens grabbed their one and only for the night. A scoreless third period saw the Sens unable to come back and the Americans took the game.
Belleville Sens head coach Dave Bell said that if his team wants to win their rematch with the Americans on Saturday, they need to stay out of the penalty box.
“Rochester was the better team, but we weren’t the worst team,” said Coach Bell. “I just thought the start was great and we fell off and lost the momentum. Give them credit, they played a pretty good game, but it was just a dead game.”
The Senators host the Americans on Saturday for the second of their back-to-back games.
