Theft of motor vehicle
On February 23, 2024 at 9 p.m., Belleville police received a call regarding a stolen vehicle. Police spoke with the complainant who advised that he was selling his vehicle online and met a potential buyer for his black BMW SUV in the parking lot of a business in Belleville’s north end. The male suspect asked to take the vehicle for a test drive. The suspect got in the BMV, left the parking lot and never returned. The suspect was originally dropped off in a silver Mercedes SUV, which also left the area. The male suspect is described as 5’7” tall, dark skin and well dressed with short hair. Motor vehicle drove into business
On February 24, 2024 at 4:36 a.m., officers were called to a business on North Front St. regarding a vehicle that drove into the building. Officers arrived on scene and observed a vehicle which had hit the wall of the business causing the glass to break in one of the windows. The collision involved slow speeds and there were no injuries as a result of the incident. Police completed an investigation and there were no charges.
Motor vehicle collision
On February 25, 2024 at 9:06 p.m., police and EMS attended a motor vehicle collision on Farnham Rd involving two vehicles. Both vehicles were heavily damaged and the roadway was closed for a brief period of time. Two people were taken to BGH with minor injuries, while a third person was assessed and cleared by EMS at the scene. Neither vehicle was drivable and they were towed from the scene. As a result of the investigation, a 19-year-old Belleville resident was charged with careless driving. The driver was issued a Provincial Offence Notice.
