A Trenton man has been charged after an impaired operation investigation.
At around 2:40 p.m. on February 19, 2024, Northumberland OPP responded to a report of pickup truck in a ditch on Cameron Road in Brighton.
No injuries were reported when officers arrived on scene.
Police then began an investigation which led to an arrest and the accused being transported to detachment for further testing.
Twenty-three-year-old William Leclair of Trenton was charged with the following:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Having care or control of a motor vehicle with open container of liquor
The driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg at a future date.
