Belleville police responded to 265 calls for service from 5 a.m. on February 16, 2024 to 5 a.m. on February 20, 2024.
Impaired Driver
On February 16, 2024 at 9:45 p.m., Belleville police received a call for a report of an impaired driver on Harmony Rd. Police searched the area and were able to locate the vehicle at a business on North Front St. Police spoke to the driver and determined that he was impaired from the consumption of alcohol. The driver was arrested and transported to the Belleville Police Service. At the conclusion of the investigation, Mitchell Barlow, 26 years old of Shannonville was charged with impaired driving and over 80. His vehicle was towed and he was released on an undertaking with a court date in March.
Motor Vehicle Collision
On February 16, 2024 at 3:20 p.m., Belleville police responded to a two-vehicle collision on Bell Blvd. There were no reported injuries, however, one of the vehicles was not driveable and was towed from the collision scene. Following the police investigation, a 38-year-old driver was charged with failing to yield to traffic on a through highway and issued a Provincial Offence Notice.
Steady 48-hour period for police
The Belleville Police Service had a steady 48-hour period ending at 5 a.m. on February 19. Police responded to several incidents that ended peacefully with police intervention. Those incidents included two noise complaints, three domestic-related incidents, one suspicious person, three traffic complaints, two neighbour and two family disputes, one animal complaint, 12 police assistance calls, seven calls to assist EMS, one motor vehicle collision, 12 unwanted persons calls and 27 911 hang-ups.
