“To all the millions of listeners out there, I would like to officially announce that I am running for mayor of Belleville.”
The City of Belleville now has its first candidate for the city’s top job, in 2026. That was Kyle Woolven on Rock 107 with Tim Durkin and Alana Cameron on Friday, February 16, 2024.
Woolven, a comedian and college professor (Durham), says his name will be on the municipal ballot October 26, 2026.
The next municipal election is 983 days away.
Woolven says he wishes to split responsibilities with current mayor, Neil Ellis.
“Neil’s doing a good job, I would like him to stay on board and take care of all the stuff that he’s taking care of, and I can sort of be the eye candy for people.”
Jokes and videos aside, Woolven, or Kyle for Mayor as he wishes to go by, says he will file papers and be on the ballot.
