Historical sexual assault charges against a former priest in Campbellford have been stayed.
In July of 2022, Northumberland OPP charged Jean-Pierre Pilon, also known as Anthony Lawrence of Marmora, with two counts of sexual assault.
It was alleged the incidents took place at a Campbellford church between 2015 and 2020.
Recently in a Cobourg courtroom the charges were stayed, meaning there was no determination of either guilt or innocence and the prosecution of the case ended.
