It seems increasing overnight paramedic service in Prince Edward County has made a big difference.
A report that Hastings County’s Emergency Services Committee will see Wednesday shows that a defibrillator was on scene for a sudden cardiac arrest within six minutes 44% of the time in The County last year, well above the target of 35%.
In 2022, before Hastings Quinte Paramedic Services staffing was increased, that target was never met.
There were significant improvements for other types of emergency calls as well.
Meanwhile, all response time targets were met and exceeded in Hastings County.
