The Utica Comets shut out the Belleville Sens 2-0 at CAA Arena on Friday Night.
There was no scoring in the first period, despite Belleville taking nearly twice as many shots on net, but the Comets took the lead early in the second.
The Comets extended their lead with an empty net goal in the third, to take the win.
Belleville Sens forward Matt Highmore wasn’t happy with how the game played out.
“It was a tough game. I feel like we didn’t necessarily bring our best,” said Highmore “We were good in spurts, but just didn’t quite sustain it over 60 minutes and ultimately fell a bit short.”
The Sens are back in action for game two against the Comets tonight, at 7:05.
