After 11 months of negotiations, a tentative collective agreement has been reached between the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board and the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation District 29.
No details of the agreement have been released.
Andrew Wachner, District 29 Interim President, says though the negotiations were sometimes challenging, they believe they’ve achieved a fair agreement for members.
School Board Chair Shannon Binder calls the deal a positive outcome that keeps students in school and provides a supportive work environment for teachers.
Ratification votes are expected to take place in the coming weeks.
