According to readings taken at CFB Trenton, the average high temperature last month was zero while the average low was -6 Celsius.
Historically, the average high for a January in this area is -2C and the low -12.
Meanwhile, the amount of snow last month was about normal at 44 cm, however, much more rain fell totalling 52 mm.
The usual January rainfall is 34 mm.
December was also a warmer and wetter month than the historical norm.
