The Grand Rapids Griffins shut out the Belleville Senators 3-0 during their game on Friday Night.
Neither team was able to score in the first period or the second, before the Griffins finally got the first goal of the night in the third period. The Griffins grabbed two more to boost their score to 3-0 and take the win.
Belleville Sens head coach Dave Bell said that the team played well overall, but needs to improve in certain areas.
“I thought we played really well. Five-on-five I thought we were really good and I thought the penalty kill was really good. With two early power plays we could have got something going, so we’ve got to fix that,” said Coach Bell. “At the start of a game you can really take momentum away from another team in their building if you score one of those.”
The Senators face the Griffins again tonight at 7:00.
