The Hastings and Prince Edward Learning Foundation’s 2023 Feed the Meter – Feed the Kids campaign blew past the organization’s goal, raising more than $44,000 for Food for Learning.
The Learning Foundation’s Resource Development Coordinator Jenn Barrett calls it an incredible accomplishment considering their target was $25,000.
All funds that were collected from downtown parking meters in Belleville and Picton during the month of December 2023 will support Food for Learning’s breakfast, snack, and lunch programs in local schools.
The program will help ensure over 7,000 local students are fed at school each day.
There were some new additions to the fundraiser including Voluntary Road Tolls in Trenton and Picton to kick off the campaign, and the Quinte Mall stepping up as a new donation location.
