A 39-year-old Belleville woman has been sentenced to two years in prison for child luring involving her stepson and another year for accessing child pornography.
The woman’s name is being withheld to protect the identity of the 13-year-old victim.
The victim’s mother informed police that she had discovered sexting on her son’s phone between the victim and the woman in the fall of 2022, which had been occurring over several months. The woman and the victim had also exchanged explicit photos of themselves.
There is no evidence of any physical sexual activity between them.
In addition to the prison sentences which will be served consecutively, the woman will be on the sex offender’s registry for 20 years, has been placed in the DNA databank, has restrictions placed on her association with the victim and his mother, is restricted from being around children in a position of trust, and has restrictions on her internet use.
