You’ll hear plenty of “hurry hard” this weekend in Trenton as the Trenton Curling Club hosts a Community Curling Day in support of the United Way Hastings & Prince Edward.
Sixteen teams are participating, most of them newer curlers who will receive on-ice instruction and play a few games.
One of the event’s organizers, Dan Crete, says the event is a win win, with all proceeds going to the United Way and the Trenton Curling Club promoting the sport of curling and perhaps attracting a few new members.
“My wife and I signed up two years ago and we’ve been welcomed by the club and I was thinking, being part of the new members, how can we get the community involved and let’s try to, you know, two-fold, right, promote the United Way at the end of their campaign and also promote the Trenton Curling Club.”
