The City of Quinte West’s Planning Advisory Committee has approved a zoning by-law amendment for a property at 260 North Trent Street in Frankford.
A plan from Rapid Roads Condominiums calls for an estimated 43 units to be built on the vacant land along the Trent River.
The amendment restricts a section of the area for conservation use only and prevents the use of docking/marina facilities in order to meet the recommendations of the Environmental Impact Study (EIS).
The EIS calls for a 12-metre buffer between development and the high water mark on southern lots and a 30-metre buffer between development and the high water mark on northern lots.
It also recommends no trails, storage or structures of any kind within the shoreline buffer.
