There are new titles for some City of Belleville Employees.
Recommendations were made following an outside review of the organizational structure and staffing levels of city departments.
During the review, Kingston-based consultant KPMG assessed the current structure of departments, analyzing the allocation of resources, operating procedures, systems, and compensation strategy to determine the most cost-effective and strategic way to operate departments and meet the current and future needs of the city.
Transportation & Operations Services General Manager Joseph Reid and Environmental Services General Manager Perry Decola will assume the roles of directors in their respective departments.
Also, former manager Marc Coyle will assume the role of Director, IT Services and will report directly to CAO Rod Bovay.
The changes were approved by council on January 8.
Bovay says the roles and responsibilities of Transportation & Operations Services, Environmental Services and IT Services have grown and changed immensely over the years and the changes will allow those departments to operate as effectively as possible going forward.
