Northumberland OPP have charged a Belleville man in connection with an attempted sexual assault.
Police began an investigation on December 9, 2023.
The complainant reported their boss offered them a ride home after completing their shift at work.
While en route, the boss allegedly consumed alcohol and then made an inappropriate request and attempted to touch the victim.
When the victim asked the driver to stop the vehicle, the accused allegedly sped up, only stopping when the victim threatened to call police.
The complainant called a friend who took them to speak with police.
The Northumberland OPP Crime Unit arrested a 43-year-old Belleville male on Monday, charging him with intimidation – use or threatens use of violence.
The accused, who was not identified by police, is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg at a future date.
