The next court date for former Commander of 8 Wing Trenton, Colonel Leif Dahl, has been set for January 22.
Col. Dahl is charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, careless storage of a firearm, transporting a firearm or restricted weapon, obstructing a peace officer, careless use of a firearm and hunting birds without a licence following an incident on the Murray Canal on August 25, 2023 where Quinte West OPP allege that wildlife was shot at and firearms were thrown into the water.
Dahl was permanently removed as commander of 8 Wing Trenton in late September.
Colonel Leighton James took over as 8 Wing Commander, replacing the Acting 8 Wing Commander, Lieutenant-Colonel Matt Lederle.
