Belleville police responded to 72 calls for service over a 24-hour period from 5 a.m. on January 2, 2024 to 5 a.m. on January 3, 2024.
Impaired Driver
On January 3, 2024 at 12:10 a.m., Belleville police received a call regarding a motor vehicle collision at Adam Street and University Avenue. Upon arrival, police observed the male driver had failed to stop at the stop sign and struck two vehicles and a fence. Police spoke with the driver, 35-year-old Michael McCulloch of Trenton and while doing so, observed him to be impaired by alcohol. McCulloch was arrested and transported to the Belleville Police Service. McCulloch was charged with impaired driving and over 80mgs. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for 7 days. McCulloch was released on an undertaking with a court date in January 2024.

Bail Violations
On January 2, 2024 at 12:40 p.m., Belleville Police received a call regarding a domestic disturbance at a residence in the city’s west end. Upon arrival, police spoke to the involved parties. During the investigation, police learned that the involved female, a 40-year-old Belleville woman was currently on conditions to keep the peace with the involved male. This condition stemmed from a previous domestic-related incident between the pair. As a result, the female was arrested and charged with failing to comply with an undertaking. She was later released on a new undertaking with a court date in January 2024. The name of the charged female is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim.
Missing tools returned to owner
On January 2, 2024 at 8 p.m., Belleville police received a complaint regarding a possible theft of tools from a Millennium Parkway car wash. The complainant advised that at approximately 5:30 p.m., he pulled his truck into a wash bay and removed his Milwaukee tool pack from the back. Upon leaving, the complainant forgot to put his tools back in his truck. He later returned and the tools were gone. Police viewed the video footage and the complainant posted to social media. The complainant later received a message from a kind-hearted citizen who had collected the tools and returned them to the thankful owner.
