Motor Vehicle Collisions
On December 21, 2023 Belleville police responded to a dozen motor vehicle collisions over the 24-hour period. Most of these collisions occurred in or near retail locations and parking lots, and were minor in nature. With the last few days of holiday shopping upon us, the Belleville Police Service would like to remind motorists to pack their patience when heading out on city streets. Traffic volumes are up, and drivers need to remember to be patient and alert while making their last-minute pick-ups and deliveries. No one wants to start the holidays with a damaged vehicle, a charge resulting from an at-fault collision, or worse, an injury from a collision.
RIDE is out and about
The Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere initiative by members of the Belleville Police Service is in full swing as the holiday season is upon us.
Thursday evening, a five-member team set up at various locations throughout the city and checked close to 425 vehicles and drivers.
There were no alcohol-related infractions, however two roadside alcohol tests were administered.
