Lennox and Addington OPP have charged two people with drug offenses as the result of a traffic stop.
Just after 4 a.m. on Tuesday morning, officers made a traffic stop on two vehicles travelling on Bath Road in Loyalist Township. One of the vehicles attempted to leave but struck a guardrail.
Both vehicles were searched and police found what they suspect to be methamphetamine and cocaine, cell phones, and cash. With the assistance of the East Region Community Street Crime Unit, two individuals were arrested and charged.
Both Samantha Lefebvre, age 31 from Loyalist Township and Joshua Trousdale, age 29 from Greater Napanee were charged with posession of a schedule one substance for trafficking, cocaine and methamphetamine.
Lefebvre was also charged for using a plate not authorized for their vehicle and driving without insurance. Trousdale was charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle.
The pair were released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Napanee on Feburary 13.
