County Marathon supports new hospital

The Back the Build Campaign for a new hospital in Prince Edward County has taken another step towards the finish line thanks to the County Marathon.

On Thursday, officials from the County Marathon presented the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation (PECMHF) with $8,000 raised during the 2023 race.

The County Marathon committee has donated almost $30,000 to PECMHF over 14 years.

And, after 20 years in charge, the current Race Director and Chairperson of the Board, Mark Henry and Lynne Ellis are leaving their roles.

The new Race Director is Brian McLean, who, along with his partner Trish McLean have plans to take the County Marathon to the next level.

“The County Marathon Committee is thrilled to be able to donate to the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation’s Back the Build program, especially now, given the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary’s pledge to match all donations over the holiday season,” said Henry.
