There’s still time to help out the Community Development Council of Quinte by participating in their newest fundraiser.
The organization’s first-ever Virtual Auction with dozens of items and experiences up for grabs, ends on Friday.
CDC Funding Coordinator Cristina Cadavid Gamble says they’ve been developing a strategic fundraising plan and are testing the waters with this fundraiser that’s proven popular for other groups.
“So this was a trial to see if this time of year was successful or if this idea in general for the agency would be something that they could carry forward in years to come.”
She says they’re pleased with the response so far.
Cadavid (Cuh-David) Gamble says proceeds will be used for the CDC’s Good Food and Good Baby Box programs as well as their Community Gardens.
“It could cover the cost of renting the truck, the gas because we truck our Good Food Box and Good Baby Box all the way to Bancroft. Replenishing the soil for the gardens when they open up in the spring. Buying formula and diapers for our Good Baby Box program.”
The CDC hopes to raise at least $5,000.
