UPDATE: Traffic is now reopened on the 401 westbound
A collision involving a tractor trailer has closed Highway 401 westbound at Trenton.
The big rig hit the median at around 3:15 Monday morning sending some concrete debris into the eastbound lanes as well.
The driver was taken to Trenton Memorial Hospital but reports indicate his injuries were not life-threatening.
Quinte West firefighters had to clean up a significant diesel fuel spill. OPP and Hasting Prince Edward Paramedic Services also responded.
It’s not known when the 401 westbound will be reopened. Detours are in place.
