The province’s Special Investigations Unit has invoked its mandate and is investigating following an incident in Quinte West.
The SIU tells Quinte News a Quinte West OPP officer was dispatched to the area of Dundas Street West and Division Street around 8:50 a.m. on Saturday to investigate an individual.
The officer located the 40-year-old person of interest and they engaged in conversation.
At some point, there was an interaction between the man and officer.
The man was arrested and then released, however, he later went to hospital and was diagnosed with a serious injury.
No other information has been released.
