Prince Edward County OPP have charged a driver following a collision.
Officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision on County Road 7 on Monday around 3 p.m.
When police arrived on scene, they spotted a pickup truck in a ditch and no driver in the area.
The driver was eventually located.
A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the driver who was taken to the Prince Edward County detachment for further testing.
Forty-year-old Mitchel Harrison of Prince Edward County was charged with the following:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Fail to remain
- Fail to report accident
The driver was held for a bail hearing on Tuesday.
The vehicle was impounded for seven days and the driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days.
