The Leigh Valley Phantoms dismantled the Belleville Senators 8-1 at CAA Arena on Saturday night.
Angus Crookshank scored the Senators’ only goal.
The Phantoms took the lead first with a goal in the tail end of the first period and two more early in the second, before the Senators got on the board with their only goal of the night. The Phantoms claimed two more goals before the end of the period, and with three more unanswered goals in the third, they took home the win.
Belleville Senators head coach Dave Bell said the team would take full advantage of an upcoming week without games.
“There’s going to be some work done this week and a complete reset to the right frame of mind. We’ve got to get back to playing the right way. But there’s also some guys that definitely need some ice bags and some rest,” said Bell.
The Sens have a week off before they begin a three-game road trip, visiting Hartford, Bridgeport, and Utica.
