One of two people charged after a big drug bust in Cramahe Township in August of 2020 has been sentenced, but will avoid jail time.
Police in large numbers seized 3,444 marijuana plants, 41 pounds of processed marijuana, 31 pounds of cannabis resin, a farm tractor, and a cell phone.
The street value of the drugs was estimated at almost $4 million.
Recently in a Cobourg courtroom Faith Forget, 54 at the time of her arrest, was handed an 18-month conditional sentence, 18 months of probation, a weapons prohibition, and a forfeiture order.
She was sentenced on a charge of cultivating marijuana in a place other than her dwelling. Other charges were withdrawn.
The other person charged was Ronald Forget. He was 51 at the time of his arrest and remains before the court.
