Quinte West OPP continue to investigate Sunday’s collision in Quinte West that claimed the lives of two people.
Around 3:30 p.m., OPP, Quinte West Fire and Hastings-Quinte Paramedic Services responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on County Road 40 (Wooler Road) at Gunter Settlement Road in Quinte West.
Police say two people were pronounced deceased at the scene.
Quinte News previously reported that reports from the scene indicated two pickup trucks collided and a male and female were pronounced dead after being extricated by Quinte West firefighters using the jaws of life.
The OPP Technical Collision Investigation unit, in conjunction with the Chief Coroner’s Office and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service, is leading the investigation.
