Belleville police responded to 211 calls for service from 5 a.m. on November 4, 2023 to 5 a.m. on November 6, 2023.
Impaired Driving
On November 3, 2023 at 7 a.m., police were dispatched to Front Street regarding a vehicle that had crashed into a building. Witnesses advised police that the driver had fled on foot just prior to their arrival. Officers located the suspect a short distance away and took him into custody for impaired driving.
The accused, 28-year-old, Braeden Turner of Belleville was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and released on his own recognizance. The accused will appear in court on December 14, 2023.
Weapons
On November 3, 2023 at 7:30 a.m., police were called to a North Front Street business regarding an unwanted male. Upon arrival, the male was observed with a knife in the washroom of the establishment. The subject took off with the knife in hand. Officers caught up to him and took him into custody for weapons dangerous and two counts of mischief. The accused, 35-year-old Justin Minaker of Belleville, was held for a show cause hearing on November 3 and will return to bail court on November 6 to answer to the charges.
Breach of Probation
On November 4, 2023 at 7 p.m., police were called to a residence on Station Street regarding an unwanted male. The suspect had left prior to police arrival, however, officers located the suspect a short distance away. The investigation found that the suspect was breaching a probation order. Fifty-three-year-old Kevin Flood of Flinton was taken into custody for failing to comply with a probation order. He was released a short time later on his own recognizance and will appear in court on December 14, 2023.
Warrants
On November 5, 2023 at 12:30 p.m., city police were dispatched to a North Front Street business in regards to a domestic disturbance. The investigation revealed that the male subject involved was wanted on four outstanding warrants with the Belleville police. The 41-year-old Belleville man was taken into custody and held for a show cause hearing scheduled for November 6, 2023.
Assault
On November 5, 2023 at 11:30 p.m., police were dispatched to a west end location for a report of a dispute. The investigation revealed that an assault did occur, however, there were no serious injuries reported. As such, 54-year-old Michael Rose of Belleville was arrested and charged with one count of assault. He was released on his own recognizance. The accused will appear in court on December 11, 2023.
